Step 5: Start the vehicle. After completing steps 2, 3, and 4, turn off the ignition and remove the key. Reinsert the key again and start the car this time. Once the vehicle starts, the battery sign will disappear from the screen. If the battery sign disappears and there’s no BMS-related message on the screen, you have successfully reset it.

8. Overused Brake Pads. Worn-out brake pads can also trigger the brake warning light on your dash. However, this issue will only show up on your dash if your car is equipped with sensors that monitor the wear level of the brake pads. Check the brake pads if your Ford Focus or Ford Escape has this feature.
Randomly, however, I get the 'Service Advance Trac / Hill Descent Control Fault Warning / Pre-Collision Unavailable / Hill Start Assist Warning' messages. Sometimes, it's after a few miles pulling out of a parking lot, other times it's in the worst of places (7% down grade towing a 12,000lb. 5th Wheel).
