I know original Guild Wars had no sub free either, but, GW2 is a completely different game with an open world like WoW, SWTOR etc (last time I checked). Now, monthly fee is there to maintain servers, patches, game upgrades, etc. How is this going to work when there's no monthly fee? I am looking IMO a monthly fee would kill Guild Wars 2 by destroying its' niche, alienating the fanbase and giving casual players an incentive to quit. There are better options, such as buyable content packs. -- Gordon Ecker 06:23, 21 August 2008 (UTC) There is no need for monthly fees lol ppl.
Guild Wars uses the same medieval fantasy setting as other MMOs, but it sets itself apart with an instance-based combat system and high graphics quality. It was also one of the first games to use a business model that didn't depend on a monthly subscription fee. The legacy continues and it still won't cost you anything to try.
As a big AP hunter myself, and talking with german AP hunters from his DE server back when he was #2 EU, and I associated with other AP hunters to get up at 4-5am on Sundays for kegbrawl (yes, we did), they clearly accused him of having other people farm the 10k pvp wins achievement for him. skelk_lurker • • 2 yr. ago. Listing Fee (5%) — This nonrefundable cost covers listing and holding your items for sale. For Guild Wars 2 on the PC, a GameFAQs message board topic titled "So, if they don't have a monthly subscription..". yErr.
