I have a GBA SP AGS 001 that is having difficulty charging consistently. Essentially what is happening is that my SP will briefly charge for a few minutes with the orange light on, before turning off after about ~5 minutes. Sometimes it stops within the first 30 seconds.

It certainly is possible, given the fact that chinese BT transmitters usually are pretty small and most of it is the battery anyway. I wouldn't want to damage the working adapter, plus it would need to connect to the different port so it needs modding (and possibly still use the link port for power), but this sounds pretty doable.

Unfortunately, the AGB-001 relies exclusively on AA batteries when unmodified. That was a big selling point of the SP model, the fact the battery was rechargeable. In fact, the AGB-001 doesn't even have a port for the cable. You can buy kits to mod a rechargeable battery into the AGB-001, but they usually charge via Micro-USB or USB-C, not the
